DJ/producer/musician GRiZ (aka Grant Kwiecinski) tapped Mike Avery for the new single “The Anthem”. The Detroit native’s future funk track also includes vocals by the Los Angeles Children’s Choir.
“For this record I first went out to New York to record with some of the Daptone Records guys to get the main groove of the tune,” states GRiZ. “Then I had to travel out to Van Nuys to record a children’s choir, which was the most nerve-racking thing I have done in my entire life! Having a group of 7-11 year olds sing your song is quite the feeling.”
“The Anthem” will appear on GRiZ’s forthcoming album Say It Loud. Besides Mike Avery’s contribution to his latest single, the project will also feature iDA Hawk on “Stay Trippin” and Orlando Napier on “A Fine Way To Die”.
