Adolescence is the transitional period where a child develops into an adult. One of the most awkward, confusing, and enriching periods of life serves as theme for teenage rapper Fisher Kay’s latest work. Fisher’s Adolessons introduces a more brazen artist than the one presented on earlier projects like Weekends and Eugene Sanders. It’s clear, like the title suggests, the Fitchburg Phenom is learning to channel his sullen feelings toward his haters into competitive energy that is fueling his drive.
“People are always talking shit. Everyone swears they’re the nicest. But, that’s rap music for you,” says Fisher. “I’ve just grown up. I figured out how to turn my anger into good music. Well, I think it’s good at least. I’m just trying to be the best. I’m hungry.”
