Los Angeles emcee Murs will be playing a big role in the upcoming Sunset Strip Music Festival. The lead vocalist of The White Mandingos has announced the Murs 316 Stage at the street festival. Murs will personally hand pick the artists that will perform at SSMF’s first Hip Hop dedicated showcase.
Murs is a Hip Hop veteran who has released numerous albums since his debut F’Real in 1997. His latest project, ¡MURSDAY!, is a collaborative effort with his Strange Music labelmates ¡MAYDAY!
Murs has also worked with West Coast representatives Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Snoop Dogg. His next LP Love & Rockets 2 is expected to be released in 2015.

Other acts scheduled to appear at the two-day SSMF include Jane’s Addiction, Empire of the Sun, Failure, and Mayor Hawthorne. Venues lining West Hollywood’s Sunset Boulevard like Whisky A Go-Go, The Roxy and Viper Room will host performances throughout the day and evening.
